August 16, 2026 — Cultivating the Commons Skill Share
This is a monthly resource and skills-share circle that explores the history of common land-stewardship and other sources of inspiration that help us envision a future built by community, rather than individual accumulation of capital.
Third Sunday of each month — 6 - 8 pm MST
This Month’s Meeting + Reading
This month, we will read a short essay by Gary Snyder called “The Place, the Region, and the Commons”from his book, The Practice of the Wild.
I am very excited to share this essay with you, and think it will spur a great conversation. Please bring your thoughts, questions, challenges, and maybe a dish or something to share for the community meal afterwards.
LOCATION
If you are in Bozeman, we will meet in “the grove” at GVB . If you are somewhere else, please consider joining online from a “place” that makes you feel at home.
It will also be Naomi and I’s last night in Bozeman for the summer, so we will have a fire and food after we meet.
—If folks are interested in joining online, let me know in advance, and I will coordinate a video call, which will start at 6:30pm.—
